Crohn’s

Your digestive system is key to your health and wellbeing.

When it’s not working well, it can leave you dealing with unpleasant symptoms and lack of energy because your body can’t easily digest what you’re eating and absorb the nutrients it needs to let you enjoy your life.

What is Crohn’s disease?

Crohn’s disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It causes inflammation of your digestive tract, which in turn may lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhoea, weight loss, fatigue and even malnutrition (because nutrients aren’t being absorbed by the bowel).

Different areas of the digestive tract may be affected. Your digestive tract starts in your mouth and ends at your anus and the inflammation could be anywhere between these two points.  In some cases the inflammation spreads into the deeper layers of the bowel.

When the disease is active, signs and symptoms may include:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Abdominal pain and cramping
  • Blood in your stool
  • Reduced appetite and weight loss
  • Period issues
  • Mouth sores
  • Anal fissures (tears) or infections

While Crohn’s is not life threatening it can have a significant effect on your quality of life.

For reasons that are not well understood, women are more likely to suffer from Crohn’s and their symptoms are often worse.

What causes Crohn’s disease?

It’s not clear what causes Crohn’s and it’s usually diagnosed after other conditions with similar symptoms have been ruled out. For example: sensitivity to lactose (milk protein) or gluten, colitis or SIBO (Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth).

How can I help you with digestive issues?

Sobada and reflexology for Crohn’s disease:

Gentle Sobada abdominal and back massage improves the blood supply to your digestive organs and helps them to easily eliminate waste products which allows your digestive system to function better.

The relaxing abdominal and back massage helps relax tension in your abdomen and return organs to their optimum position.

I incorporate hand and foot reflexology to help you truly relax and return to a state of balance. Reflexology is very effective for digestive related issues.

Emotional release

While Sobada Abdominal massage is great at  creating a physical change in your belly, it’s also effective in supporting emotional change.

We hold the tension related to certain experiences and emotions in our bellies and when we give ourselves space to express our feelings (verbally or non-verbally) we allow for healing of what needs to be healed.

I believe that when you feel calmer and more relaxed your body is more likely to heal.

EFT Tapping for Crohn’s disease:

In addition, I’ve successfully helped people with digestive issues using EFT Tapping. This option is especially useful if you can’t come to my office in Modi’in as EFT Tapping can be done very successfully via Zoom.

Read more about tapping here.

I’m a holistic therapist and I am here to help you!

I love helping women to overcome their fertility challenges and other issues related to your cycles, pregnancy, periods and/or anxiety.

I treat women with abdominal and womb massage techniques known as Sobada (formally the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage) and reflexology.

I’m also an Advanced EFT Tapping practitioner and I work with women in particular issues around anxiety, depression, stress levels.

I teach Fertility Awareness to help women better know their bodies and improve their chances of conceiving or prevent pregnancy naturally.

I live in Modi’in, Israel and that’s where I spend my days helping women during their fertile years, pregnancy, menopause and other hormonal conditions. Bodywork sessions (massage and reflexology take place in my clinic in Modi’in but EFT Tapping sessions and Fertility Awareness education can take place online or in person).

Ilana

Great treatment! Thank you. You have a great touch. You get right to the issue and work on it gently. You apply pressure when needed but know also how to deal with sensitive spots. I look forward to our sessions.

My dear Annette, the more I know and experience your treatments, the more I really feel your dedication and love for what you do and give. And you give a lot just by being you. In your quiet manner and the way you have of listening to the body. I thank you for everything. I thank G-d for getting to know you, it has been a great privilege. My body also thanks you. You are one of a kind. I love and wish you a happy and sweet new year and may you continue to do good and have a good impact on the world.

Shula.
