Reflexology is an ancient healing method that has become popular again in the past hundred years. The word Reflexology alludes to the basis of the technique – your feet and hands reflect your body.
Your feet and hands have reflex areas corresponding to the different parts of the body. These reflex areas form a map of the body representing the parts of the body on the feet and hands. The state of your physical and emotional health is reflected in your feet and hands
Using different massage and pressure techniques on these reflexes can bring about a positive healing response including pain relief, hormone balance, relaxation and stress relief.
Reflexology is a holistic therapy that can address both your physical and emotional wellbeing.
It works well on it’s own or as part of conventional medical treatment.
Best of all, reflexology treatments are enjoyable and relaxing. Many of my clients achieve a deep level of relaxation during the treatment and some even fall asleep . In addition to helping balance hormones, relieve pain and help you feel great, reflexology supports your immune system to prevent illness.
In most situations, the goal of a reflexology treatment is to bring your body back to a state of balance. When there is balance in our body, the organs and body systems can work optimally and we feel energetic and healthy.
The method has been used for several thousands of years and is known to have been practiced in a similar manner by the Chinese and the Egyptians. Reflexology as we know it today began with the work of Eunice Ingham who based her work on Dr. William Fitzgerald’s Zone Therapy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are reflexology treatments performed?
After a warm foot bath, you lie fully clothed on my massage table. Using pillows to support you and make sure you feel comfortable I work for a short time on your hands before moving to your feet.

How long is the treatment?
Most of my treatments are an hour long.
If you would like an hour and a half treatment, reflexology combines very well with other massage techniques including Arvigo abdominal massage treatments.
Can I have reflexology if I am taking medication?
Usually yes. In our initial session together we will discuss any medication you are taking and your health history. Feel free to discuss this with me prior to your first treatment. When I work with fertility clients who are taking fertility drugs it is especially important that I have a copy of your drug protocol. I adapt my treatments to the different stages of your cycle and make sure that my treatments work to enhance the efficacy of the the medication you are taking.
How many sessions do I need?
This is the most asked question but it’s a hard one to answer. Generally, if you are dealing with an acute issue that is bothering you, I will suggest weekly treatments until we see a good improvement. Usually clients have an improvement within 4-6 sessions and often much sooner (I like to underpromise and overdeliver). Depending on the situation, you can then reduce your treatments to fortnightly and later monthly when you feel that is right for you. In rare cases, I may initially suggest two treatments per week.
I suggest monthly treatments as maintenance and for general stress relief. However, I have clients who come every week/fortnight/month according to their preference.
I am ticklish, is reflexology suitable for me?
Yes! I have worked on lots of ticklish feet and most people relax very quickly and are pleasantly surprised that reflexology is not ticklish at all.

The treatment was a huge treat. I had never had reflexology before. Annette has a very caring manner and explained the treatment to me before we began. I had a very blocked nose and after the reflexology treatment I could finally breathe again! I am looking forward to returning to her again because I felt so good after the treatment. I highly recommend her.Alana., Modi'in
When I started seeing Annette for reflexology, I wasn’t sure what to expect besides a relaxing foot massage. But I discovered so much more.
Apart from having an amazingly effective massage technique, Annette was able to find the deeper causes of my stress, and focus the treatment on the spots that would have the most impact. After each treatment, I felt a profound sense of calm. My sleeping improved, and my anxiety levels went down. I really sensed that Annette not only understood my feet, but also my emotional state. I highly recommend her!Laura, Modi'in
The first time I called Annette for reflexology, I could not sit up. I was in so much pain (all over) that I was crying. After an hour treatment, I was able to work again! She was able to do more for me than prescription pain killers. I cannot recommend Annette enough.Leah., Modi'in
